Trek tinerary:

Day 1: Rongai Gate to Simba Camp
You'll drive to Rongai Gate, near the Kenyan border, and begin a gentle hike through farmland and forests to Simba Camp (also known as Cave 1).
This day includes opportunities to see wildlife like monkeys, elephants, and buffalo.

Day 2: Simba Camp to Third Cave
The trek continues through moorland, with increasing altitude.
You'll reach Third Cave, where you will camp for the night.

Day 3: Third Cave to Kibo Hut
This day involves a steeper, more demanding ascent through the high-altitude arid desert to Kibo Hut.
This camp is located at the base of the summit.

Day 4: Summit Day and Descent to Horombo Hut
You'll start your summit attempt in the early hours of the morning, ascending via switchbacks to Gillman's Point on the crater rim.
After reaching the summit at Uhuru Peak, you'll begin your descent to Horombo Hut.

Day 5: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
The final day is a long, continuous descent through the forest to the Marangu Gate.
From Marangu Gate, you'll be driven back to your hotel in Moshi.
